Getting started

vibEats can't find any restaurants

Check, in order:

Location Services are on — iOS Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Location Services.
vibEats has permission — iOS Settings ▸ vibEats ▸ Location, set to While Using the App.
You have an internet connection. Place search comes from Apple Maps and needs one.
You are somewhere with places nearby. In a rural area, try widening the distance in the filters.

You can also skip location entirely: on the Home screen, type a city or neighbourhood into the manual location field and vibEats will search there instead.

I said no to location. Can I still use the app?

Yes, completely. Type a city or neighbourhood on Home and everything works from there. If you change your mind, go to iOS Settings ▸ vibEats ▸ Location — the app's Settings tab also has an Open Settings shortcut when location is off.

Why is my location wrong?

Nearby places are determined by your device location through Apple Maps. If it looks off, check Location Services are enabled and that you have a clear GPS or Wi-Fi signal. Indoors and in dense city centres, iOS location can drift by a block or two.

Ratings and reviews

How do I rate a place?

Open any place and tap Rate This Spot. Score it on the biteMeter from 0 to 100, rate the aspects that mattered — Taste, Vibe, Service, Value, Photo Worthy — add a note and photos if you like, then tap Share.

Can I change a rating I already made?

Yes. Open the place and tap Edit Rating, or find it under My Vibes and tap Edit Rating there. Every rating is editable forever.

How do I delete a rating?

Go to Saved ▸ My Vibes, find the rating, and delete it. It is removed from your device immediately.

Where did my draft go?

If you start rating a place and leave without tapping Share, vibEats keeps it as a draft so you don't lose your work. Drafts appear in My Vibes and are excluded from your Food Insights until you commit them.

Why don't I see star ratings or reviews from other people?

vibEats has no other users — there is no social feed, no public reviews, and no comments. Your ratings are yours alone, stored on your device.

Place information comes from Apple Maps, which does not provide ratings, reviews, photos, or opening hours. Rather than invent them, vibEats shows nothing. That is a deliberate choice: everything you see in the app is real.

I found incorrect restaurant information

Place details come from Apple Maps. Corrections have to go through Apple's business information process rather than through us — we have no ability to edit them.

vibEats Premium

Is vibEats free?

vibEats is free to download and free to use. Discovery, search, maps and directions, unlimited biteMeter ratings, photos, favourites, share cards, and My Vibes history are all free, with no ads and no account.

vibEats Premium is an optional one-time $9.99 purchase that unlocks the extra features — the unlimited AI Food Concierge, Dining Planners, Curated Collections, Food Passport, Dining Journal, Food Insights, Dining Challenges, Advanced Filters, and Premium Themes.

Is Premium a subscription?

No. It is a single one-time purchase. There is no recurring charge, no renewal, and nothing to cancel. Every future premium feature is included at no extra cost.

I bought Premium and it isn't showing up

Open Settings ▸ Restore Purchase (it is also on the Premium screen). That asks Apple to re-check your Apple ID and unlocks Premium again.

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with — this is the usual cause. Restoring works on any device signed into that Apple ID, and after reinstalling the app.

The paywall says "Pricing is unavailable right now"

That means the App Store could not be reached. Check your connection and try again — there is a Try again button on the screen. If it persists for more than a day, please email us.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple ID that made the purchase. If something went wrong, do also email us — we'd like to know.

Does Premium sync to my other devices?

Yes. It is tied to your Apple ID, so tap Restore Purchase on your other device and it unlocks there. Your ratings and collections do not sync — those are stored locally on each device.

Privacy and your data

What data does vibEats collect?

None. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your ratings, photos, collections, searches and preferences are stored on your device and never transmitted to us. See the Privacy Policy.

Are my food photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Photos stay in the app's local storage on your device, and location metadata is stripped from them before they are saved. They only leave your device if you share them somewhere.

How do I delete everything?

Settings ▸ Delete all local data. That removes saved places, collections, ratings, photos, recent searches, recently viewed, and personalization in one action. Deleting the app also removes all of it.

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing on our side to delete.

Features

What is the AI Food Concierge?

Describe what you're craving in plain words — "quiet Italian for date night under $60" — and vibEats turns that into a search and explains its matches.

Where your device supports Apple Intelligence, it runs on Apple's on-device model. Where it doesn't, vibEats falls back to a deterministic parser and says "showing smart matches" rather than claiming AI it isn't using. Nothing you type is sent off your device either way.

Free users get 3 Concierge searches per day; Premium is unlimited.

What's the widget?

vibEats includes a home-screen and lock-screen widget showing your biteMeter stats. Long-press your home screen, tap +, search for vibEats, and add it.

Can I turn off the launch sound?

Yes — Settings ▸ Launch sound. Haptics have their own toggle right above it.
