The forecast just got a personality.
Accurate forecasts, a radar worth watching, official alerts presented exactly as issued — and commentary you can dial up, down, or off entirely.
Checking the weather should not feel like reading a spreadsheet. Weather Genie explains what is happening, what is changing, and what it means for your day.
Reads the forecast and points out what is worth knowing — when rain is most likely to arrive, the best window to be outdoors, how the day will shift. It runs on your device, and every insight is labelled as an interpretation.
Full-screen, interactive radar with a scrubable timeline. Watch what has already happened, then what is predicted — the two are never confusable.
Government warnings appear exactly as issued, always above anything the app generates itself, and are never suppressed or reworded.
Six personalities and four intensities, from mild to unfiltered. During dangerous weather the app stops joking entirely and reports the warning.
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets in several styles, from a minimal temperature to the full hourly outlook.
Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labels throughout, a colour-vision-safe radar palette and a Reduce Motion setting that genuinely reduces motion.
Real screens, real forecasts — nothing mocked up.

Weather Genie is free for 30 days from the moment you first open it — no card, no account, nothing to enter. After that, a single purchase unlocks it permanently. It is not a subscription, it never renews, and you are never charged automatically: the purchase happens only when you tap it and confirm with Apple.
$3.99 in the US, with local pricing elsewhere. Nothing renews, there is nothing to cancel, and it is shared with your Family Sharing group.
Nothing to sign up for. Open the app and it works.
No advertising identifier, no analytics SDK, no profile built about you.
Search any city instead and every feature works identically. If you do allow it, coordinates are used only to fetch a forecast.
Saved places, settings and cached forecasts stay on your phone.

Common questions first — most things are answered here.
No. There is nothing to sign up for.
Yes. Search for and save any city, airport, landmark or postal code. Every feature works the same.
No. Weather Genie is free for 30 days, then a single one-time purchase unlocks it permanently. Nothing renews and nothing is charged automatically. There are no adverts and no premium tier — one purchase is the whole app.
The app asks you to unlock it, once. Your saved places, settings and cached forecasts are all kept whether or not you buy, and nothing is deleted. You can also unlock it at any point during the 30 days if you would rather not wait.
Yes, as many as you like.
Weather apps use different forecast models and observation points. Weather Genie uses Open-Meteo, which selects the best available national model for your location. A degree or two of difference between apps is normal.
Official alerts are currently available for the United States and its territories. Elsewhere, check your national weather service — the app tells you when it has no alert coverage rather than leaving you to assume.
Radar comes from ground stations, and some regions — oceans, remote areas, and parts of the world without a public radar network — have none. Blank is not the same as clear, which is why the app says so.
iOS decides how often widgets refresh, usually every 15–30 minutes. Turning on Background App Refresh helps, and opening the app always updates them at once.
Yes — Settings → Humour → Intensity → Off. Everything else works exactly the same, and nothing is hidden behind humour being on.
Forecasts come from third-party providers. If something looks wrong, get in touch with the location and time and we will look into it.
